Artist/Musician D'Angelo, one of the neo-soul pioneers of the 1990's, first wowed us with his mellow, sexy sounds in his hit song, "Brown Sugar". At that moment, the sound of soul was redefined beautifully.
It's been 14 years since D'Angelo has released an album since his critically acclaimed "Voodoo" LP. Finally, his long anticipated album "Black Messiah" is due to hit the shelves before 2014 is over.
D'Angelo's Second Coming tour promises to show his wide, talent-rich range. He will showcase his skills as a keyboardist, guitarist, bandleader and of course... as a singer!
14 years is a long time to leave the public eye. If you're curious about whether or not D'Angelo still has what it takes to move audiences like he did year ago, take a look at this video of his recent 2014 Afropunk performance. Accompanied by legendary Hip Hop band The Roots, D'Angelo and Co. covers Prince's song "She".
